A Union is Born: Latin America in Revolution The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). by Eva Golinger

While much of the world is in crisis and protests are erupting throughout Europe and the United States, Latin American and Caribbean nations are building consensus, advancing social justice and increasing positive cooperation in the region. Social, political and economic transformations have been taking place through democratic processes in countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil throughout the past decade, leading to a massive reduction in poverty and income disparity in the region, and a substantial increase in social services, quality of life and direct participation in political process.

The New Arms Race: America to Wage War in Space, Cyberspace, Air And Sea Simultaneously. by Geng Yansheng

New US strategy brings risk of new arms race

-After the 9/11 attacks, the US waged a 10-year war against terrorism, but now it considers China's anti-access and area denial capabilities the main threat to its interests in the West Pacific. Its attention has shifted from non-traditional threats such as terrorism back to traditional threats from countries like Iran and China.

Mexico: Lack of tax incentives discourages giving

By Adam Thomson

A few years ago, when Carlos Slim was asked about philanthropy, the Mexican telecoms billionaire said he disagreed with “going around like Santa Claus”. His views seem to have changed little since then.
“Poverty doesn’t go away with charity, social services, paternalism or speeches,” the world’s richest individual told the FT in June this year.
“You can only defeat poverty with jobs and with people who create jobs.”

Why Moscow does not Trust Washington on Missile Defense. Towards a Pre-emptive Nuclear War? by F. William Engdahl

Most in the civilized world are blissfully unaware that we are marching ineluctably towards an increasingly likely pre-emptive nuclear war. No, it's not at all about Iran and Israel. It's about the decision of Washington and the Pentagon to push Moscow up against the wall with what is euphemistically called Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD).
On November 23, a normally low-keyed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told the world in clear terms that Russia was prepared to deploy its missiles on the border to the EU between Poland and Lithuania, and possibly in the south near Georgia and NATO member Turkey to counter the advanced construction process of the US ballistic missile defense shield: "The Russian Federation will deploy in the west and the south of the country modern weapons systems that could be used to destroy the European component of the US missile defense," he announced on Russian television. "One of these steps could be the deployment of the Iskander missile systems in Kaliningrad."1 Those would be theatre ballistic missile systems. The latest version of Iskander, the Iskander-K, whose details remain top secret, reportedly has a range up to 2000 km and carries cruise missiles and a target accuracy to 7 meters or less.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING: "Shadow War" Heating Up. War With Iran: A Provocation Away? by Tom Burghardt

Amid conflicting reports that a huge explosion at Iran's uranium conversion facility in Isfahan occurred last week, speculation was rife that Israel and the United States were stepping-up covert attacks against defense and nuclear installations.
The Isfahan complex transforms mined uranium into uranium fluoride gas which is then "spun" by centrifuges that enrich it into usable products for medical research and for Iran's civilian nuclear energy program.
While Iranian officials sought to distance themselves from initial reporting by the semi-official Fars news agency that a "loud explosion" was heard across the city, but that "the sound of the explosion was from [a] military exercise," has been contradicted by several sources.

Today we talk to Michael Goodbaum of RockTheNation.org about the influence of the organizers on Occupy Toronto and its activities. We discuss the OTPOR training of the facilitators and how dissenting voices have been kept from participating in the assembly.

Economic Elites Strip Away European Sovereignty

Even the middle of the road journalists are beginning to question Europe’s elected and appointed leadership. This past Monday the plan for the euro zone was laid out for a final capitulation to world government. The financial crisis has been handled from behind the scenes by the Fed, so that Germany’s Chancellor Merkel and France’s President can concentrate on more important matters, namely the final federalization of the euro zone to be followed by the entrapment of the remainder of the European Union.

Conservatives and “homo-bestiality” Why do right-wing extremists keep linking gay sex to animal abuse? By Tracy Clark-Flory

Why conservatives link bestiality and homosexuality

This week conservatives got all hot and bothered over bestiality – which they condemn, of course, but just can’t stop talking about.
Last week, the Senate voted to repeal an archaic military ban on sodomy that happens to also reference sex with animals. Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice holds that a service member who “engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same sex or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy.” This bit of legal housekeeping helps to put military law more in line with both the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and this little thing called the Constitution. But right-wingers were quick to announce that the repeal of Article 125 meant bestiality was being legalized in the military.

The real definition of Terrorism. By Glenn Greenwald

The FBI yesterday announced it has secured an indictment against Faruq Khalil Muhammad ‘Isa, a 38-year-old citizen of Iraq currently in Canada, from which the U.S. is seeking his extradition. The headline on the FBI’s Press Release tells the basic story: “Alleged Terrorist Indicted in New York for the Murder of Five American Soldiers.” The criminal complaint previously filed under seal provides the details: ‘Isa is charged with “providing material support to a terrorist conspiracy” because he allegedly supported a 2008 attack on a U.S. military base in Mosul that killed 5 American soldiers. In other words, if the U.S. invades and occupies your country, and you respond by fighting back against the invading army — the ultimate definition of a “military, not civilian target” — then you are a . . . Terrorist.

The boys who cry “Holocaust”

The same neocon hawks who lied us into Iraq are using the ultimate argument-stopper to push war with Iran

We’ve been through this before. As one of the most disastrous wars in our history is coming to an inglorious end, the same neoconservative hawks who dreamed it up are agitating for a new war that would make Iraq look like the invasion of Grenada — and using the ultimate trump card in American politics to silence debate over it.

Illuminati Defector Details Pervasive Conspiracy

By Henry Makow Ph.D.

If you detect the devil's hand in current events, you may be closer to the truth than you think.

A woman who was raised in the Illuminati cult describes a powerful secret organization comprising one per cent of the U.S. population that has infiltrated all social institutions and is covertly preparing a military takeover. Her revelations cast the "war on terror" and "homeland security" in their true light.
"Svali" is the pseudonym of the woman, age 45, who was a mind "programmer" for the cult until 1996. She was the sixth head trainer in the San Diego branch and had 30 trainers reporting to her. She has risked her life to warn humanity of the Illuminati's covert power and agenda.

A pervasive, highly organized system

in a cultural limbo where very little is real.

Russian Protests: Western Media Lies

What the media says and what the media doesn’t tell you

1. What the Media Says:
From CNN: “Between 20,000 and 25,000 protesters had gathered in the capital, Moscow, Ria Novosti said Saturday, citing police. There have been no reports of unrest and security has been tight. Vladimir Ryzhkov, co-chairman of the Party of People’s Freedom, said 40,000 people had massed and some 10,000 were headed to the main protest venue, the news agency reported.”
What the Media Doesn’t Tell You:
Vladimir Ryzhkov is a member of the US government-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) “World Democracy Movement.” NED was also financing the very poll monitors Ryzhkov is citing as his justification for filling Russia’s streets with unrest.

Gold and Silver will WIN the currency war - Max Keiser and Mike Kreiger

The Pentagon has undertaken war games on currency and finance as countries jostle for survival and position with the Euro in danger of collapse.

The Pentagon has undertaken war games on currency and finance as countries jostle for survival and position with the Euro in danger of collapse.
Press TV has talked with Max Keiser, financial analyst in Paris about the new economic treaty proposal between Germany and France to rescue the collapsing Euro and the impact this could have on other countries if approved.
Max Keiser explains the unfolding of a global currency war and how major countries are positioning themselves. Following is a transcript of the interview.
Press TV: What is the deal with Britain in terms of this whole scenario that’s been played out since they’ve been left out in the cold – Are they the ones preventing this new treaty from happening?
Max Keiser: Britain is in a really precarious position. They have a debt to GDP ratio of over 1,000 percent. 400 percent of that is just in their banking sector alone. So now they’ve completely isolated themselves from the rest of Europe. So David Cameron wants the city of London to be the global headquarters for fraud – you remember AIG, MF Global, Lehman Brothers and Bernie Madoff – all had their operations in London.

New European Treaty Won’t Solve Current Liquidity Crisis

The agreement European leaders reached Thursday night was taken by some as a sign that the eurozone would avoid breakup. Not so fast. Economists, political leaders and other observers caution that the new pact does not go far enough to address the immediate liquidity crisis threatening European banks and governments.
To shore up those institutions, the European Central Bank would have to take more drastic action by buying up large amounts of government debt. And so far it’s been unwilling to do that. On Thursday, ECB President Mario Draghi said that he was “surprised” by some observers’ interpretation of his Dec. 1 comments that the ECB might buy large amounts of government debt.

Wilkerson: New Military Powers the Road to Tyranny

Strauss-Kahn Charges Patrick Martin -

A lengthy article by long-time investigative journalist Edward Jay Epstein, published in the New York Review of Books, sheds new light on the arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the International Monetary Fund, last May in New York City on bogus rape charges.

Dominique Strauss KahnThe article suggests that the arrest may have been the product of a sting operation mounted with the knowledge of top French government officials, including the chief intelligence adviser to French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Bringing the ‘War on Terror’ Home Coleen Rowley -

U.S. intelligence says the terror threat from al-Qaeda is receding, but Congress keeps on expanding the scope of this “war” so as not to look “weak on terror,” now adding new military powers that could be used against American citizens.

Riot PoliceThe political, military industrial, corporate class in Washington DC continues to re-make our Constitutional Republic into a powerful, unaccountable Military Empire.

The U.S. Senate has just voted 93 to 7 to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2012, which allows the military to operate domestically within the borders of the United States and to possibly (or most probably) detain U.S. citizens without trial.
